| The Mareeba Tropical Savannas and Wetlands are less than an hour from Cairns yet provide a unique outback experience. The lagoons and channels of the wetlands lie in a savanna Reserve of over 5000 acres and are a sanctuary for much of tropical Australia’s savanna and wetland wildlife and cultural heritage. |
 The Reserve has been developed by the Mareeba Wetland Foundation, a community-based membership organisation. All income is directed towards the ongoing management of the Reserve, its conservation programs and educational resources. |
